This post is part adventure, part apology. But the two pair well!... We think. The apology bit is that we're sorry we haven't been generating content for the site as frequently as originally foreseen this season. The adventure part is below and what we hope will act as some sort of mitigation to our shortage of new articles. It's kind of our way of showing just because we haven't been at our keyboards typing a ton, doesn't mean we've been up to no good. We've been actually doing as much good as possible for the efforts of our country's soccer federation.
As you may have read on our About page or have gathered from the allusions in our writing, both Kevin and I serve as equipment managers for the United States youth national teams. And our travels have taken us all over the world, to places near and far where we have been privileged enough to see the sport through the spectrum of so many different cultures. The photo gallery you're about to scroll through is a look behind the scenes at the journeys we've been on. One day we hope to tell you the story behind every picture.
For more on the experience, read One Match in Paris, One Club in Paris.
Part of me is proud to say this isn't the end and that more photos are to come. Another part of me is not. Selfishly, as you can tell from the pictures, we've seen some pretty amazing things in the football world. But the more we're gone, the less we can write. We promise to do our best when we are around, but these frequent trips leave very little room to sit down and let one's brain explode into a word document. If you can hang with us for the time being, trust me, we're going to have some pretty damn good stories to tell when the dust settles.
